Site Study – Moat in Sanzay

This Site Study is a follow-up to the Cables & Signs (ten underwater field recordings) project from 2009.
The phonographic recordings made for Cables & Signs, combined with aerial recordings made in the area over a period of ten days and nights, and microphones placed on site, were played in resonance with the space of the courtyard. Three listening sessions took place (7pm - midnight - 5am), inviting the public to listen both to the site in the moment and its re-interpretation.

About the Site Studies
These studies have been carried out on a regular basis since the early 2000s. They stand as in situ operations for all types of venue – regardless of their acoustic and sonic qualities – in response to requests for a few days' residency on location. Always designed with concerts and listening sessions in mind, the core of these proposals consists of field recordings, compositions (sometimes installations) based on the particular features of a given space.
